  • October 2019 - DILA.ai collaborated with Vector Institute, MIT, and Google for the TORONTO HEALTH DATA HACKATHONS. Link
  • September 2019 - DILA.ai collaborated with Stanford University, Thomas Jefferson University, Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), and The American Society of Neuroradiology (ASNR) to setup the RSNA Intracranial Hemorrhage Detection competition. Link

Our Mission

The Diagnostic Imaging and Learning Algorithms (DILA) team at LKS-CHART brings together international experts in machine learning and medicine to identify, invent and implement innovative technologies to improve patient outcomes, modernize health care institutions, and train future leaders in the field.

Goals:
Develop data-driven technologies, solutions, and applications which will:
  1. Establish a world-class research unit in computational intelligence, specializing in medical imaging;
  2. Improve the level of care the network provides to its patient populations;
  3. Develop new insights which can lead to administrative efficiencies across Unity Health Toronto;
  4. Advance patient care by training the next generation of experts in the field;
  5. Establish an international consortium of universities, hospitals, and industry partners to facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge and data.

Core Activities:
  1. Identify, plan and implement groundbreaking innovative machine learning and medical research, filling a current need within Unity Health Toronto;
  2. Foster a collaborative environment where an interdisciplinary team of radiologists, clinicians, data scientists, and researchers can develop medical imaging vision learning technologies that can be implemented within Unity Health Toronto and beyond;
  3. Formulate and offer a comprehensive training program for undergraduate, post-graduate and medical students.

We are a team with expertise in computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and medical imaging. We make sense of big data so our hospital partners can make better decisions, increase efficiencies and improve patient care.
